Every family crest, coat of arms or image is created entirely by hand, using traditional methods and under high magnification Peter will cut out the silver / gold with small hand held, push gravers.

Here's a short video of Peter, Hand Engraving a crest onto a sterling silver cufflink. The process is done entirely by hand using small hand held gravers under high magnification to produce all of the fine detail.
The cufflinks are not etched, nor machine engraved, the whole process from start to finish is created with traditional hand skills, deeply cutting out and removing the silver / gold to produce a master piece.

The Difference Between a Coat of Arms and a Family Crest
A coat of arms is a detailed design often comprising of a shield, crest, helmet, motto, mantling and more.
A crest is located at the top of the coat of arms, on the top of the helmet, these may include a lion, cross, horse, stag, armoured arm with dagger or sword etc.
