Birthstones are gemstones which represent a persons birth month, each stone is a different colour and has a unique meaning to each and every month. The use of birthstones date back to ancient times where it was believed that gemstones had properties of health, luck and prosperity.

January

Garnet is the birthstone for January. The stone is a rich, vivid intense red colour. The name garnet comes from the latin word "Garanatus" meaning seedlike giving reference to the pomegranates round red seeds.
